Families

There are a variety of activities for families throughout the year, but our ministry to families revolves around Wednesday evening programming. The Wednesday worship service caters to families and is followed by a variety of faith-forming activities that vary from week to week in order to respond to the varying faith formation needs of our community. We believe effective faith formation requires both peer and cross-generational relationships so, on any given week, you may find yourself sitting with a group of peers (i.e. children, middle-school, high-school, adults) or participating in an activity with people of all ages. Similarly, we believe learning faith foundations like the Bible, Creed, and our Lutheran heritage is important. It is equally important, however, to understand how faith is relevant to our increasingly complicated lives. Weekly focuses, then, will range from subjects like Biblical Interpretation and Lutheran Theology to pressing social/personal issues like mental health and parenting.

South Canyon Lutheran Church is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), if you would like more information on what we believe, please see ELCA – What We Believe.
